Band-aid Ring
This is the story of a ring that needed to be rescued.
I cast a lot of my stuff. Casting does not always mean easier!! It is still time consuming. So when a ring or a cast element does not come out right it is still frustrating. This ring was about to be thrown into the melting pot (the beauty of metal when some thing doesn't work out). I had an idea, maybe it could be rescued.
As you can see it has a big hole in it.

I filed the hole so I could insert a piece of metal
I then soldered a piece of gilding metal (a mixture of copper and brass) into the space.
I then cut and filed it away to be part of the ring.
I chose the gilding metal because I wanted the mending to be obvious. We all have a scar or two!!

Nugget Rings
Here are my new Nugget Rings in bronze and silver and silver. I have been playing around with finishes and have polised one bronze nugget and left the other silver and bronze nuggets matt.
I am very happy with how they turned out. Watch this space for more...

Nuggets and fools gold
So I have been slightly creative this year so far. I decided to make a ring that matched my Geometric studs. I think that nugget is a better term for them though.
They are hand filed metal nuggets that I then make into rings. The fools gold one is actually a metal called gilding metal, it has a rosey/brassy look, somewhat like rose gold.
In the top picture the one is matt and the other polished.

More Geometric
Here is one of my geometric pendant with a "gold" side (it is gilding metal). Love the contrast of colour.
Faceted ring. This is a great unisex ring. It would look great on a guy or girl.

Geometric Earrings
Here are some more earrings. I love that the elements move on the earring hook, changing position all the time. So sometimes the pairs will be the same and other times different. They are made with sterling silver with the "gold" elements in bronze.
