Confessions and Non Ferrous Metal

So I have a confession to make...
I love hardware stores, machinery, tools, salvage yards and construction sites.
I don't know why, I just love them. I do manage to constrain myself, sometimes...
So when I took a trip down to 'Non Ferrous Metals' to buy bronze I loved all the machines and piles of  metal in different forms and couldn't resist taking some pics textures and shapes for inspiration.

Earrings with Geometric Shapes

I was so excited to see the result of the shapes into pieces, so I quickly had to make some earrings. Here is the first taste of what will become of the shapes. These earrings are made with sterling silver hooks and bronze shapes.

House & Garden Show

It is that time of year and it is the House & Garden Show in Durban. I will have stuff on the Mooi stall in the Homegrown Hall. Here is a pic of my brooches in their new packaging.

Some more shapes

Here are some more "shapes" brooches in different colours and words. I have done them in perspex and wood. What I like about the different materials is that they have a different feel. The perspex being fun and a bit cheeky whereas the wooden ones have a sophisticated feel about them.
