Market Mainia

Well as I have said there are lots of markets to go to to support us local designers, crafters and makers. Here is a list of where I'll be this season.

26 November, Saturday - Dube Trade Port Market, King Shaka Airport

27 November, Sunday - Wonder Market, Chris Saunders Park, Umhlanga

3, 10, 17 December, Saturday - I Heart Market, Mosis Mabida Stadium,

18 December, Sunday - Wonder Market, Chris Saunders Park, Umhlanga

And of course if you can't get to any of the markets I will be hard at work in my studio in the courtyard of EarthMother Organic so you can come see me there.

Happy Handmade Holidays!!!

Icon Africa Postcards

I have been working with a talented friend of mine, Jessica Nicholson. She has been doing all my illustrations for my Icon Africa range. We started off with South African flowers, then the birds came and from that it lead to the postcards. We think they are great. The flower and bird illustrations are for a range of wooden brooches and fridge magnets. Here are the postcards.

Flowers for Icon Africa

I have been working on a range called Icon Africa. It is about South African flora and fauna. The first in the range was the flower range. The illustrations were done by a good friend Jessica Nicholson. They started off being fridge magnets, as all the "South African" fridge magnets I had seen were rather awful and a bit gaudy, so this was to produce something that had more style. I then realised that they would make great brooches as well. I love how the wood has turned out.
