Stoned Heart
Well not exactly a stoned heart, but rather a heart with stones. These beads are adventurine (green) and amethyst (purple). It makes a great pendant. Keep it simple or you can have loads of charms on your ring pendant.

Charming
Here are some of the charms that i make. They are great on a necklace (as shown) or add to an existing collection. They make a great xmas pressie. (still trying to master the art of jewellery photography)
The heart says "joy" I do them with lots of different words like, love, lief, uthando, eternal, believe. Or you can have one custom made.

Flowers
These pics are of my flower rings. They are simple round bands with either 1 large or 3 smaller flowers that jingle and jangle off the ring, bringing music to your ears. I need to make more - note to self!!!! They also come in earrings. Then you really do have music in your ears.

Necklace to remember
This is a necklace that i made for Colwyn. She wanted something to reminder her of sons. I have seen generic boy figures but I needed to make it different, to have more personality. The result was these very cute "boy" characters. I think they are very sweet.

Wrap Wire Rings
These rings I have been making for years and still am. They are a classic. Each one is hand made so the wrapping of the wire is unique to each ring. I have an array of pieces that belong to this range, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and bangles, but this was the beginning.

Back in Africa
Well I am back in SA and have been for a while. Not only have I had a great holiday in the UK but I have also moved my workshop, been to Joburg and now have to set up my workshop. So everything is in chaos, including my headspace hence no blogging. The exciting thing about Joburg is that there is a selected range of the Icon Africa in PIECE at The Firs, Rosebank. Any way here is a little reminder of being back.

London Town
Thanks everyone for supporting the Red Eye and DLI markets this weekend. It was great to see so many people. I know I have been very slack with postings but I have been moving my workshop and started lecturing at Tech again and trying to get everything together for my trip to UK. I am off to my cousins wedding in Cheshire, UK. I spend a few days in London first, can't wait. Will be posting when I get back. Bye
These earrings are "Flowers on a Stick" they are one of my best sellers.

Market time again - night and day

Mint
Once upon a time there was this shop that had lovely retro finds. In fact when my son was born he and I spent many a day in it passing the time and getting to know one another. This was because it was owned by a good friend and we (well I) thought it was far more exciting than sitting at home. This shop was Mint. Sadly Rhys got bigger and I went back to work and Kirsty closed it due to the lure of the corporate world. (Well actually the only sadly bit of that last sentence was Mint closing.) Gladly she regained her senses and has revived Mint. Not only did Rhys and I have a wonderful time there I also bought some gems from there. Here is a peek and don't forget to have a look at Mint here.

Icon Africa Postcards
I have been working with a talented friend of mine, Jessica Nicholson. She has been doing all my illustrations for my Icon Africa range. We started off with South African flowers, then the birds came and from that it lead to the postcards. We think they are great. The flower and bird illustrations are for a range of wooden brooches and fridge magnets. Here are the postcards.

Kilt Pin
The brief was to make a kilt pin for a 60th birthday pressie. He is a ex-South African, he likes guitars, rugby and SA. Oh and it has to be a little different to you traditional kilt pin. After lots of communication this is what it looked like.

40 = Ruby
My friend Jess (the one that does my illustration for Icon Africa) wanted to get her parents a 40th wedding anniversary pressie. Forty years is a Ruby. The result was a beautifully simple salt spoon with a ruby set at the end. The back has her parents names and the date stamped on the back. (Sorry still trying to master my camera, so you don't get the true colour of the stone which is actually a pinky red).

A little sparkle with black
I made these plain bands last month. They are really simple but look really good on the finger. You can mix and match the square and round bands. There are two with a little bit of black sparkle in the form of 4pt black diamonds. Very sweet.

Rings with bling
I have had these stones in my stash for ages, so I finally decided to use them and made these rings. I have this problem of buying stones and then not wanting to let them go, but the day comes when I have to. They will be on sale at the I Heart Market on Saturday 3 July. The one the left is a faceted quartz and the other a garnet

Flowers for Icon Africa
I have been working on a range called Icon Africa. It is about South African flora and fauna. The first in the range was the flower range. The illustrations were done by a good friend Jessica Nicholson. They started off being fridge magnets, as all the "South African" fridge magnets I had seen were rather awful and a bit gaudy, so this was to produce something that had more style. I then realised that they would make great brooches as well. I love how the wood has turned out.

Some more shapes
Here are some more "shapes" brooches in different colours and words. I have done them in perspex and wood. What I like about the different materials is that they have a different feel. The perspex being fun and a bit cheeky whereas the wooden ones have a sophisticated feel about them.
